Bim Bam Gallery

How can we change users’ perception about art galleries as unwelcoming and cool places?
What can we do to stand out from other art galleries?

Status: Built
Client: Baimba
Type: Art exhibition gallery
Scope: Interior Design
Size: 70m2

One of our main goals was to create a visually striking and unique exterior design for the gallery, capturing walkers’ attention and becoming an iconic landmark.

Vivid colors and a dynamic loggia entrance that breaks with the ortogonal urban tissue are two of the main points of this project.

The loggia allows us to create an inviting space and it works as an adaptative area that can be used as a display for the artwork, a gathering point during the vernissages or special events, and it is also a big canvas that changes depending on the exhibitions, creating an interactive and more appealing experience.

The receeded transparent facade allows people outside to catch glimpses of the artwork inside, piquing their interest and encouranging them to enter.

The bold and vivid color palettes of the artworks are mirrored in the gallery’s facade and it acts as a preview of the art displayed inside

By extending these colors to the gallery's exterior, the goal is to instantly capture the attention of passersby and make the gallery stand out among other buildings in the area. By incorporating eye-catching artistic elements on the gallery's facade, the institution becomes a part of the neighborhood's cultural landscape. The facade becomes an artistic canvas in itself, symbolizing the creativity and innovation that the gallery represents. It serves as a visual representation of the transformative power of art and its ability to breathe life into the city.

We studied various design strategies to create a dynamic and visually engaging exterior that also adds an artistic dimension to the architectural composition

The main three categories of facades are loggia, receeded door and aligned to the street.
